ELT Footprint win the British Council ELTons Innovation in Teacher Resources award

Here is Kath's acceptance speech as ELT Footprint accepted the British Council ELTons award for Innovation in Teachers' Resources.
ELTons award

Thank you to the British Council and to the ELTons team for organizing this year’s event and thank you to the judges who voted for us. It was already an honour for ELT Footprint be a finalist and I’d like to congratulate our co-finalists on their excellent and innovative products.

I can’t say I’m a hundred per cent surprised at winning because, let’s face it, the climate emergency is THE most important issue facing the entire world right now and it’s high time our profession played its part in saving the planet. All of the three thousand plus members of our community know this and this award is for each and every one of them. Thank you!

Today we pause to celebrate. But tomorrow it’s back to action. We have a moral obligation to do whatever we can within our ELT sphere. There are lots of conversations to be had. And lots more innovative ideas to be developed and shared. ELT Footprint is the perfect place for this. I’d like to end by inviting everyone out there to join us if you haven’t already. Everyone is welcome.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
